Recent Happenings at Achieve
Today, we wore "crazy" or mismatched socks to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD). Every year World Down Syndrome Day raises awareness and celebrates the uniqueness of individuals with Down syndrome, as the date (3/21) symbolizes the extra copy of the 21st chromosome that people with Down syndrome have, and chromosomes resemble the shape of socks. 😊

Achieve's Activity and Life Enrichment Program had an especially fun and action-packed start to 2025 with a large variety of activities. Participants enjoyed making bracelets in art group, making apple pie quesadillas in food group, Yu-Gi-Oh! Club, Movie Club, Music Group, and singing karaoke. Participants also were able to go out into the community, volunteering with Meals on Wheels Anoka County, shopping for food group, and playing kickball and in the foam pits at nearby Jam Hops. Today we attended the MOHR/ARRM 2025 Disability Services Day at the Capitol. We had a group visit the capitol to advocate and show support for funding programs like Achieve and other services for adults with disabilities. Way to advocate! 😊
