Recent Happenings at Achieve
We were devastated to learn of the tragic shooting this morning of Sen. Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, and Rep. Hortman and her husband, Mark. Rep. Hortman and her husband did not survive this cowardly attack, carried out by a gunman posing as a law enforcement officer. Hoffman has long been a champion for Achieve and the disability community, and Hortman was a beloved leader and dedicated public servant. Our hearts go out to their families and friends, and we pray that the Hoffmans fully recover from their injuries.

Today was our CEO, Tom Weaver's retirement party that we combined with our summer picnic. It was a bittersweet day wishing him a happy retirement. Our participants gifted Tom a scrapbook with notes and artwork that they created for him. Tom, thank you again for the wonderful 14 years of leadership. You will be greatly missed and we wish you a very happy retirement. And feel free to stop by and visit us anytime. 😊

Today was "Favorite Character Day," and we had so much fun dressing up or wearing shirts with our favorite characters! We spotted Mickey Mouse, Scooby-Doo, Lilo & Stitch, a Ninja Turtle, and even Santa. Tomorrow is Achieve Day! Don’t forget to wear your Achieve gear. 😀

Today was "Wacky Wednesday" where we wore wacky mismatching clothes and hair styles. It was very fun because Thor also visited and was dressed as a "dragon dog." Remember tomorrow is dress as your favorite character day or wear a shirt with your favorite character on it. We're looking forward to it! 😀
